Islamabad Taxi Fares

Most journeys in the twin cities are still priced by negotiation — at the kerb, with your bags in hand, by someone who knows you are in a hurry. We price the route instead. Enter your addresses, see the fare, and that is what the trip costs.

How your fare is worked out

Your price comes from the journey you actually asked for — the real pickup address, the real destination, and the vehicle class you pick — not from a per-kilometre rate you have to do arithmetic on. The calculator prices every class available on your route at the same time, so choosing between them is a comparison rather than a guess.

We do not publish a rate card on this page on purpose. A printed table is out of date the moment tariffs move, and a stale number on a website is worse than no number at all. The calculator is always current, and it is the same engine the booking takes its price from.

Why an agreed fare beats a negotiated one

A negotiated fare is settled at the worst possible moment for the passenger: on the street, under time pressure, usually with luggage. A metered fare is not much better — nobody can tell you what it will come to before the trip, because it depends on the traffic and the route the driver takes. An agreed fare moves the whole conversation to before you leave the house, when you can compare it, think about it and decide against it.

It also means the awkward part is already done. There is nothing to argue about at the destination, nothing to work out in change, and no reason for the route to be longer than it needs to be.

Journeys people price most often

The calculator handles any route, but these are the ones people look up before they book — each with a page explaining what to expect on the trip:

Taxi fare FAQs

How do I find out the fare for my trip?

Use the calculator on this page. Enter the pickup and drop-off addresses, pick a vehicle class, and the fare appears immediately — no phone call, no personal details, no waiting for a callback.

What does "fare agreed before you travel" actually mean?

The price you are shown when you book is the price you pay. There is no meter running, no multiplier applied at busy times, and no renegotiation with the driver. If the route turns out slower than expected, that is our problem rather than an addition to your fare.

What changes the price of a journey?

Two things: the route itself, and the vehicle class you choose. A longer trip costs more than a short one, and a larger vehicle costs more than a small one. Both are priced before you confirm, so you can compare classes side by side on the form.

Is a bigger vehicle worth it for a group?

Usually, yes. The calculator prices every available class for your exact route, so a group of five or six can see at a glance whether one larger vehicle costs less than two smaller ones — it very often does, and it keeps everyone travelling together.

Do intercity trips work the same way?

Yes. A run to Lahore, Peshawar, Murree or Abbottabad is quoted the same way as a trip across Islamabad: enter the destination and the fare comes back for the whole journey, motorway tolls and all, before you commit.

Is a return trip cheaper than two one-way bookings?

Not automatically — each leg is priced for its own route and timing, so book both and compare. On hill and intercity routes in particular it is worth pricing the return at the same time, because a driver who is already making the trip is a different proposition from one starting fresh.
